Rosemary Gownley is a senior food scientist with J & J Snack Foods Corp., Frozen Dessert Division where she develops frozen novelties. She has developed products used in extensions of well-known brands such as Luigi’s Real Italian Ice, ICEE, Philly Swirl, and Minute Maid Juice Bars. A long-time member of the American Wine Society, she is active in the group’s Wine Judge Certification Program. She has judged regional, national and international wine competitions and is familiar with regional wine styles. She is a frequent attendee of the Drink Local Wine and American Wine Society conferences. Rosemary studied biology and chemistry in college, where her original research was published in academic journals. She is a graduate with honors of the Penn State University Ice Cream Short Course and holds a number of laboratory and food production certifications.
